2 ORI 410 Light Through an Eastern Window
This course is the first of three texts concerning Orientalisms in the Bible (Eastern customs or
thoughts that are not readily understood by the Western mind, e.g., “The Covenant of Salt”). Since
the Bible is an Eastern book, the study of Orientalisms provides the Bible student valuable insight
into difficult Scriptural passages.
2 ORI 420 Orientalisms of the Bible, Volume I
This course is the second of three texts concerning Orientalisms in the Bible (Eastern customs or
thoughts that are not readily understood by the Western mind, e.g., “Double for Sin” from Isaiah
40:1-2). Since the Bible is an Eastern book, the study of Orientalisms provides the Bible student
valuable insight into difficult Scriptural passages.
2 ORI 430 Orientalisms of the Bible, Volume II
This course is the third of three texts concerning Orientalisms in the Bible (Eastern customs or
thoughts that are not readily understood by the Western mind). This text illuminates passages from
Proverbs. Since the Bible is an Eastern book, the study of Orientalisms provides the Bible student
valuable insight into difficult Scriptural passages.
6 THS490 Hermeneutical Studies & Research
This capstone course provides students with an opportunity to apply and further develop their skills
using hermeneutical approaches for Biblical study. Various topics will be studied and researched to
expand the student’s knowledge of and ability to address difficult passages or topics in the Bible.
